Piercing Aftercare Tips

Just spray your sterile saline solution on the end of a q-tip to gently clean and remove dried discharge and lymph secretions from your new piercing. This will need to be done at least 3 times a day but can be done up to 6 times per day.

  1. Do not touch the body piercing or rotate jewelry during the healing period.

  2. Do not take it out.  Body piercings may take many months to completely heal.  Changing or removing jewelry should be avoided for at least 8-12 weeks.

  3. Do not let the body piercing come in contact with another persons bodily fluids.

  4. Never use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or hand soap because they my damage healthy cells and cause scar tissue.

  5. Products that contain petroleum are not recommended as it may collect and promote the growth of bacteria.

  6. Avoid hot tubs, pools and lakes until the piercing is completely healed.

  7. Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, oils and lotions.

  8. Tight fitting clothes may irritate a new piercing.

Tattoo Aftercare Tips

Wash your tattoo thoroughly with a mild antimicrobial soap (we recommend H2Ocean foam soap) and warm water. Gently pat it dry with a paper towel.  Squeeze a small amount of ointment on your finger and gently rub it into your tattoo like lotion.  You do not want the ointment sitting on top of the tattoo. Repeat this process at least 3 to 4 times a day for the first 3 days.  Once the tattoo begins to peel you will switch to an unscented/undyed lotion.

  1. Do not re-bandage your tattoo.

  2. Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.  Do not use a washcloth or anything abrasive on the tattoo.

  3. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo.

  4. Avoid submerging your tattoo in hot tubs, swimming pools, ocean and the lake during the healing process.

  5. Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least two weeks.  Definitely avoid tanning oils, lotions and sand.

  6. Avoid tight fitting cloths which might irritate a new tattoo.

Saniderm

Cut and trim Saniderm to fit around the tattoo – include an extra inch around all sides. TIP: Cutting the edges of the bandage to be round will help it adhere better and feel more comfortable.

Peel the white paper wrapping from the sticky side first and place gently over the tattoo.

Once the adhesive side of the bandage is in place, remove the see-through second layer from the top side and smooth the bandage over the tattoo.

Keep the first applied bandage on for anywhere from 3 to 24 hours, depending on how much the wound is weeping. Replace within 24 hours. It’s fine if there is some plasma/blood/lymph fluid buildup under the bandage during this period, but don’t leave it longer than 24 hours.

To remove Saniderm, find an edge of the bandage and pull it back over itself in the direction of your natural hair growth. The shower is the ideal place to remove Saniderm. Running water will help loosen the adhesive and relax the skin, making the removal much more comfortable. Dry removal of Saniderm may cause discomfort and added trauma to the skin.

Discard the used bandage and wash the tattoo with a mild fragrance-free soap.

Allow the tattoo to air dry or pat dry with a clean towel.

Apply a second bandage by following the application steps listed above.
Keep this second bandage on for 3 to 6 days – the full six days being ideal. If the skin appears irritated, there is fluid buildup, or the bandage is coming off, it’s okay to remove the bandage sooner rather than later.

If your bandage comes off early or you do not have a second piece of Saniderm to apply, take care of your tattoo normally following the Tattoo After Care Tips provided above.
